Nathaniel Spens Douse Brassfinisher

wrote in 1940 that "my brother Nat's wife lives in Glasgow and some of her

28.born at 61 Elswick East Terrace; Marriage record in index: 1881 June,
Newcastle T., 10 b. 179. Occupation given in wife's death record; according to a letter by John Stonehouse in 1903, Nat was tall, thin, and 42, and had 8
living children at the time. Letter dated Mar 1940, Nat's wife was living in Glasgow, apparently Nat has died.


Martha Ellen Nixon

According to a letter from Harry Spens Stonehouse, son of John Thomas
Stonehouse, Martha, his aunt, died of war injuries in Glasgow as did 2 grdchrn, a boy Tommy and a girl Ellen, 9 and 11, children of dau Ellen, during the big air raid in 1942. Two other grandchildren left England after the war and went to Canada to a relative named Nathaniel Douse.
