Reverand;
C116853 6035516 Register, IGI; age 8 in 1881 Census
Lieut. Colonol; Given as William Hay Stirling in Spens Family History
Birth information taken from IGI; age 9 in 1881 census;
Andrew was head of the family Spens of Craigsanquhar (Sanctuary on the hill)
which is a cadet branch of Spens of Lathallan. Craigsanquhar still stands as
do the shooting butts where Dr. Nathaniel Spens practiced with the long bow
when he was the Queen's official body guard when she was in Scotland. The
house, near Cupar in Fife, is unfortuantely no longer in the family. Though I
am now officially the "chief" of the Craigsanquhar branch, the title has little
meaning these days--all information according to A.Paul Spens of Suffolk.
