According to dau Mary, "Mum and Dad met and married three weeks later. Immediately after their marriage, my father was posted to the Middle East and they did not see each other for four and a half years. Their honeymoon was on Victoria railway station. My father was an engineer but ill health meant that he had to give it up and he went into teaching. He taught mathematics, physics and chemistry."
Acording to Mary, "My mother was a nurse and was nursing in London during the Blitz."
John was retoured heir to his father in 1495 and died in 1520;
Reverand; David Spens, rector of Flisk, got a charter under the great seal of Muirton, dated 12 June 1513.
