"Canyon Retreat"

. "Canyon Retreat" (40) is a painting that was signed and dated 1885. According to One Hundred Years of Utah Art, this paining was owned previously by Mr. and Mrs. Cyril H. Curtis. Some time later, this painting was found in David Erikson's  Gallery 56 in Salt Lake City and purchased.  This oil on canvas is 34" x 24". "Canyon Retreat" may be the painting Nathaniel donated to the Salt Lake City Pioneer Rifle Club.
